SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA- The 2014 Shark Island Challenge was run on 16 October 2014 as an APB World Tour invitational specialty event in 4-8ft. wave conditions.

The start time for this one day competition was pushed back to 9am to allow for improved conditions resulting from the rising tide and changing swell direction.

After an 18 month hiatus from competitive bodyboarding, Andrew Lester, a former Australian National Champion and 2001 Pipeline Champion, would claim the victory and add the 2014 Shark Island Challenge to his already impressive career resume.
