PLC WINS GQS, COBB WINS WWT AT ANTOFAGASTA

PLC Wins the 2013 Antofagasta Bodyboard Festival Men's GQS.

  ANTOFAGASTA, CHILE-  2011 IBA World Champion Pierre Louis Costes (France) has won the Men's GQS (Global Qualifier Series) portion on the 2013 Antofagasta Bodyboard Festival in Chile.  Also walking away victorious at Antofagasta, Australian Emma Cobb won the WWT (Women's World Tour) Grand Slam.

BEN PLAYER WINS ARICA GSS

  ARICA, CHILE-  2x World Champion Ben Player (Australia) has won the 2013 Arica Chilean Challenge. With this win, his second of the year, BP moves into the #1 ranking on the MWT (Men's World Tour) Grand Slam Series.


LUZ MARIE GRANDE WINS WOMEN'S REGIONAL EVENT AT ARICA

Puerto Rico's Luz Marie (picture on right) came away victorious at Arica.

  ARICA, CHILE-  This year's Arica Chilean Challenge featured an IBA Latin America Women's Regional Tour event to coincide with the Men's GSS.  Claiming the win, in the women's regional competition, was Puerto Rico's Luz Marie Grande.

JOEY VIERA SUFFERS BROKEN NECK AT SANDY'S

An X-ray image of Viera's neck shows the damage.

  OAHU, HAWAII-  As announce on the Triad Movement Bodyboards Facebook page, Hawaiian bodyboarder and notable industry figure Joey Viera suffered a broken neck while riding Sandy's on Oahu's south side.  Fortunately for Viera, he did not suffer any paralysis.  He will undergo surgery today (3 June 2013) to fuse together his C6 and C7.  Best of luck with surgery and hoping you have a speedy recovery!

  AUSTRALIA-  Toby Player and his wife, Chloe, have announced that they are expecting twins!  Congratulations, Toby and Chloe!


PRO BODYBOARD COUPLE EXPECTING FIRST BABY

The Bitzers are expecting a baby girl.

  OAHU, HAWAII-  Professional bodyboarders Jason Bitzer and 3x USBA Women's National Champion Roberta Bitzer have announced that they are expecting their first child.  Congratulations, Jason and Beta!
